Lara Hillier

Lara is Auckland Managing Partner at PwC New Zealand.

Moving from South Africa in 2008, Lara successfully established PwC's internal audit, risk and compliance practice in Auckland. She is a recognised expert with vast experience in areas of governance, risk management and internal audit, having specialised in these areas since the mid-1990s.

Lara brings a broad base of experience across the entire spectrum of risks and controls, from conducting simple financial process reviews through to complex operational reviews. She specialises in working with organisations that want to achieve a step change in internal audit and risk management including optimising business processes, controls and assurance teams, across the 'three lines of defence', advising on internal audit and risk models and acting as a mentor to heads of risk and assurance.

Lara has a proven track record of working with large organisations with complex business structures to achieve their objectives for their internal audit and risk management function. She has significant experience developing and delivering global internal audit methodology training for PwC. This experience ensures she is well connected to emerging international best practice and innovative thinking. She also has extensive personal networks enabling her to connect organisations with relevant experts across all territories.

Outside of work, Lara enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, and travelling.
